Fourteenth Street Magazine
In the Spring of 2009 I worked as the lead designer on Temple's student run magazine. I took on this project because I wanted more than just class projects for a grade, I wanted to do something real, something to benefit the students. After getting special permissions from the head of the Magazine department, I was selected to be apart of this amazing team. We had writers, editors, photographers and more to help launch this magazine. Before the magazine was just mediocre with a mediocre name. We took the publication and revamped it's image and essence. We created Fourteenth Street as a statement for the Temple students. We wanted to give them something edgy that related to things they cared about. Fourteenth Street in Philadelphia, also know as Broad Street, runs through the city the heart of the city like a major vein. It connects so many people thought transportation, food, music, shopping and culture. It partly why Philly is such a wonderful city and that is why we named our magazine Fourteenth Street. We wanted to be what connected the city to our students. More importantly we wanted them to feel like citizens of Philadelphia and not just students at Temple. So we set out to find controversial stories and different aspects of the city to share. As a result we created two amazing issues and the students really responded to our efforts. Our staff worked day and night to produce each issue and we would made a thousand more issues if we didn't have to graduate. Flip through the pages of both issues in the virtual magazine to the right. If you're from Philly you're see it in a whole new light and if you're not from Philly you'll want to go visit the city of Brotherly love more than ever.

Philadelphia Zoo Campaign - Moments Worth Exhibiting
This was a project from my final advertising class at Temple University. The class was a focused around a semester long project that allowed students to function as closely as possible to a real advertising agency. Each member of the class is divided into an "agency" of 6 students. Each student was given a role that best portrayed their abilities. In our agency I was the art director. Our client was the Philadelphia Zoo. After weeks of researching and brainstorming each group developed a campaign to present to the Marketing director at the Philadelphia Zoo. Our target audience was parents, ages 25-40 with a secondary target of children age 5-13. We focused our campaign around creating unforgettable experiences with your children. Experiences and memories that can only happen at a special place like the Philadelphia Zoo. Parents and children can explore together, learn together and remember together. We used several mediums from print, outdoor, transit, web and new media. In the gallery above you can view a sampling of our campaign. Scroll through and click on each image to take a closer look.
